EXCELLENCE IN WRITING CONTEST
Open to North Texas Christian Writers Conference registrants only.

Winners are chosen for originality and craft and will be recognized with a $50 cash prize on Friday evening of the conference. Second-place winners will receive a $25 gift certificate.

All submissions must be original and not previously published, not accepted for publication, and not a winner in another contest.
Submissions are accepted only as a Microsoft Word attachment sent via e-mail, with the entry category named in the Subject line.
One entry per registrant per category.

DEADLINE
Entries must be submitted no later than midnight on Sunday, June 17.

ENTRY CATEGORIES
Adult Fiction Novel or Short Story. For books, send one-paragraph synopsis and one chapter.
Children’s Fiction Short Story or book chapter, up to 1200 words.
Young Adult Fiction Short Story or book chapter, up to 1200 words.
Devotional, 600 word maximum.
Poetry
Nonfiction Book, send one-paragraph synopsis and one chapter.
Nonfiction Article, 1800 word maximum.
High school Students (ages 14-18), limited to a maximum of five double-spaced pages. May be any genre, fiction or nonfiction, including poetry.
